According to the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA) Autoimmune disorder affects up to 50% people of world wide. An autoimmune disease develops when your immune system, which Protect your body against disease, decides your healthy cells are foreign. As a result, your immune system attacks your healthy tissues. Depending on the type, an autoimmune disease can have an effect on one or many different types of body tissue. It can also reason irregular organ growth and changes in organ function. Here are briefly mentioned about some known autoimmune disease-

Causes of Autoimmune Disease

The cause of autoimmune disease is unidentified. There are many researches and studies about what triggers autoimmune diseases, including:

  • Bacteria or virus
  • Drugs
  • Chemical irritants
  • Environmental irritants


 Types of Autoimmune Disorders-

There are 70 to 80 types of autoimmune disease; many of them have mostly similar symptoms which makes them very hard to diagnose. The following are some of the more general autoimmune diseases:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • celiac sprue disease
  • pernicious anemia
  • Vitiligo
  • Psoriasis
  • Inflammatory bowel diseases
  • Hashimoto’s disease
  • type 1 diabetes
  • Alopecia Areata
  • Sjögren’s syndrome


  • Alopecia Areata- Alopecia areata is a state that causes a patient's hair to fall out. It is an autoimmune disease; that is, the patient's immune system attacks their own body. In this case, their hair follicles. When this happens, the Patient’s hair begins to fall out, often in patches. The degree of the hair loss varies; in some cases, it is only in a few patches. In others, the hair loss can be larger.



  • Type 1 Diabetes- Type 1 diabetes happens when your immune system attacks cells in your pancreas called beta cells. They’re the ones that make insulin.



  • Rheumatoid arthritis- Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease that causes chronic inflammation of the joints. Autoimmune diseases are illnesses that happen when the body's cells are wrongly attacked by their own immune system. Mostly Autoimmune disease is untreatable but there are many organic supplements available in market which decreases Rheumatoid arthritis.



An autoimmune disorder is a breakdown of the body's immune system that causes the body to attack its own tissues.
