- Coriander Seeds
Coriander seeds are basically an Ayurvedic remedy that helps in curing mouth ulcers. It basically acts on the ulcers by reducing inflammation.All you need to do is take teaspoon of coriander seeds and add it to a cup of water. Now boil this water for a few minutes and then strain it. Once the solution cools down, take some of it in your mouth. Then swish around in your mouth for a few minutes. Follow this remedy a couple of times in a day.
Honey is also known to be a great healing agent. This is because it soothes ulcers by retaining moisture and thus, accelerates the healing process. It possesses antioxidant and anti-microbial properties, essential for healing.Just take a cotton swab and then dip it in some honey. Now apply it on the affected area. In place of honey, you can also use glycerin or vitamin E oil. In case the ulcer is caused due to a radiation therapy, try using manuka honey.
- Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is known to be a natural healing and soothing agent. Be it in gel or juice form, it is very effective in treating mouth ulcers.Just apply some fresh aloe vera gel or juice on the ulcer with the help of a cotton swab. Just like basil leaves, chewing a celery stick can also help in curing mouth ulcers. This happens because celery possesses analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.Moreover, it also contains folic acid and vitamin B1, B2, B6 and C.Make sure that after chewing a celery stick; place its pulp on the affected area for a few minutes. This remedy is also helpful in taking away bad breath.
- Baking Soda
Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, too is help in curing mouth ulcers. It is particularly helpful for ulcers, which are a result of acidic foods or drinks. Baking soda helps in neutralizing the effect of acid. It not only reduces inflammation but also remove harmful germs and bacteria. However, it may cause a little burning sensation too.Take one teaspoon of baking soda and mix it with a little water to get a thick paste. Now apply some of it on the affected area. Follow this remedy a couple of times in a day.Alternately, you can also apply some baking soda directly on your mouth ulcer.
